NUS students proved their mettle in the world of real estate investment and emerged champions at the 3rd Annual Undergraduate Real Estate Case Competition (14-18 Apr) conducted by the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. They faced strong competition from seven established American, Canadian and New Zealand universities.

Participating teams had to role-play as a fund manager for a real estate investment fund. They were to analyse the feasibility of taking an equity stake in a large office property. NUS beat past winners University of Texas and University of Wisconsin, for the top prize with their excellent written report and oral presentation.

The NUS team was a joint effort comprising three students from the Department of Real Estate in the School of Design and Environment – Team Captain Lim Wenjie, Charmaine Cheok and Mervyn Yip; and three students from the Business School – John Chua, Ryan Peh and Alina Tan. Dr Addae-Dapaah Kwame, Department of Real Estate, is the faculty advisor.
