FOUR prominent business leaders were honoured by the NUS Business School at its 2nd Eminent Business Alumni Award Ceremony (22 July). All alumni of the NUS Business School or its predecessor institutions, they were recognised for their high level of achievements in the field of business and management competence in the private or people sector, as well as their contributions to the business community or their alma mater.
Two other outstanding alumni were awarded the Special Service Award for their exceptional dedication to serving the NUS Business School. Mr Ng Ser Miang, Chairman, NTUC Fairprice Cooperative, Executive Board member of the International Olympic Committee and Singapore Ambassador to the Republic of Hungary and the Kingdom of Norway, as well as Ms Veronica Eng, Partner of Permira Advisers, a leading European-based private equity firm, received the Award under the Senior Alumni Category (aged 40 and above). The two were also conferred Honorary members of the NUS Business Alumni Association for having distinguished themselves in their respective fields and expertise.
Mr Adam Khoo, Executive Chairman of Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group and Mr Howie Lau, Executive Director of Lenovo (Singapore), received the Award under the Young Alumni Category (aged below 40).
Mr Peter Tay, Managing Director of TPS Corporate Services and Mr Yeo Keng Joon, Managing Partner of Global Biotech Singapore received the Special Service Award, for their active contributions to the School.
Prof Bernard Yeung, Dean, NUS Business School said: “Our alumni and what they have achieved enhance the reputation of the School and enable us to reach new heights of excellence. They affirm our mission of producing business leaders for the global market place. We are heartened that many of our graduates also return to serve their alma mater in formal and informal capacities.”
