INDIVIDUAL RECORD: Contestants trying to make the paper tulips

7UP REVIVE: Attempt at breaking the mass record for most number of people drinking 7Up.
At the annual NUS Breakers, two NUS students set new Singapore records. Lei Dong, a first year Computing student, broke the individual record for making the most number of paper tulips within five minutes. As for second year Chemical Engineering student Ang Song Kiu, he now holds the individual record of having consumed the most quantity of 7Up Revive within a span of three minutes.

Other records which the NUS community have attempted to set this year included the mass record for making the most number of paper tulips made within one hour and the mass record for the most number of people drinking 7Up Revive at the same time.

On his record on making the most number of paper tulips, Lei Dong said that practising to fold the paper tulips during the mass record helped him for the individual round later. For Ang Song Kiu, he joined the event in the name of charity and fun.

NUS Breakers is organised by the NUS Students' Union Public Relations Unit to attempt record-breaking stints and raise funds for charity. This year's proceeds will benefit the Children's Cancer Foundation and the Make-A-Wish Foundation Singapore. Guest-of-Honour NUS Deputy President (Administration) Mr Joseph Mullinix, Dean of Students Assoc Prof Tan Teck Koon and Vice-Dean of Students Assoc Prof Tan Ern Ser were present at the event to join in the fun and excitement.

At past NUS Breakers, new records set included the most number of origami paper cranes folded in one hour, the most number of people eating wasabi ice-cream and the shortest time taken to consume 350 litres of Milo.
