Dressed in the national colours of red and white, the NUS community gathered at the University Hall for the annual National Day Observance Ceremony on 8 August. NUS President Professor Tan Chorh Chuan, senior administrators, staff, alumni and students sang the National Anthem and recited the National Pledge.

Leading the pledge-taking was NUS Students' Union Executive Committee President Ang Yu Qian. The flag-raising party consisted of Mrs Tan Suan Imm, an alumna of the Class of 1962; Mr Ganesh Fathah, Operations Associate at the Office of the Provost; and third-year Science student Ikhsan Bin Suri.

Following the ceremony, the staff bonded over a delectable breakfast spread.
