New and old alumni gathered with members of the NUS Department of Economics for a good cause at the Economics Alumni Trishaw Fund-Raising event on 30 November. The alumni sponsored 30 trishaws at S$500 each to raise fund for the NUS Economics Alumni Bursary Fund.

On the day, 60 alumni, family members and relatives assembled at the Albert Mall Trishaw Park in Singapore for a one-hour trishaw ride around Little India, City Hall and the Bugis area. They were treated to vibrant night scenes, passing famous shophouses specialising in colourful Indian traditional produce and classic landmarks such as the Raffles Hotel. The plethora of sights and sounds fascinated all present, who thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

The event raised S$15,000. But perhaps more memorable for the participants was that new friends were made and old ones reunited.
