NUS has been placed 22nd in the THE 2013 World Reputation Rankings
NUS President Professor Tan Chorh Chuan expressed delight that the University has been included again among the top 25 universities in the world in terms of global brands. "This is a strong recognition of our commitment to delivering high-quality education and research of global impact. It is also a testament to the extraordinary achievements of our outstanding faculty, dedicated staff, talented students and successful alumni," he said.
Editor of Times Higher Education rankings Mr Phil Baty pointed out that the reputation rankings are recognised as a powerful and widely used index of true global academic prestige. This year's rankings are based on responses from 16,639 experienced senior academics around the world, who were selected to be statistically representative of both their discipline and their region.
"The top 100 list represents only around 0.5 per cent of the universities in the world, so all of those ranked are truly among a tiny elite of the world's most highly regarded academic institutions," Mr Baty stressed. He added that NUS' steady progress into the top echelons of the rankings, second in the whole of Asia, is a remarkable achievement and a great success story.
