Amid much pomp and excitement, the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore's Class of 2013 Hooding Ceremony was held on 1 June at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music on NUS' Kent Ridge Campus.

Guest-of-Honour Health Minister Gan Kim Yong graced the occasion, together with NUS President Professor Tan Chorh Chuan and Dr Victor Dzau, Duke University's Chancellor for Health Affairs.

In his welcome address, Dean Ranga Krishnan congratulated the Class of 2013 on their achievements. This was followed by the keynote speech delivered by Nobel Laureate Professor Peter Agre, the former Chair of Duke-NUS' scientific advisory board.

As proud family members and friends looked on, the Class of 2013 recited the Hippocratic Oath with all the physicians present, before receiving their hoods from two student-nominated Ceremonial Hooders.

The ceremony closed with a video presentation and a speech by graduating class speaker Szymon Mikulski, the previous Student Council President and this year's SingHealth Top Student Gold Medalist.
