QS ranks NUS top two university in Asia

11 June 2013

NUS is among the top two Asian universities in the 2013 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings: Asia, maintaining its robust standing in the region.

The results reaffirm the University's distinction as a global university in Asia, said NUS Deputy President (Academic Affairs) and Provost Professor Tan Eng Chye. "This is a firm recognition of the high quality education and research work by our faculty, staff and students, who are an exceptional and talented team," he noted.

The University fared well, ranking first in employer reputation and second in academic reputation in Asia. In terms of citations per paper, NUS climbed to second spot from last year's fifth position.

The other ranking criteria were student/faculty ratio, papers per faculty, internationalisation, and student exchange inbound and outbound.

NUS remained among the top five universities in Asia across all disciplines measured, with improved performance in the fields of Engineering & Technology, and Life Sciences & Medicine.

First published in 2009, the QS University Rankings: Asia is released yearly. To view the full results, click here.
