INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR EDUCATION

For the first time, a hall of residence has taken the proactive step in organising a massive international conference on critical issues in education. International Conference for Education (7 to 9 Dec 2005) organised by Temasek Hall as part of NUS Centennial celebrations, saw more than 150 participants from educational institutions over 23 countries. Experts shared their perspectives on learning methods, special education, creative teaching, assessments in teaching and learning; electronic and distance learning.

NUS-FUDAN JOINT CENTENNIAL SYMPOSIUM

Researchers from Fudan University and NUS convened to discuss and share their research in the rapidly evolving fields of bioengineering, materials and nanotechnology. The NUS-Fudan Joint Centennial Symposium on Bioengineering, Materials and Nanotechnology (21-22 Nov 2005) saw more than 30 presentations with topics such as Relevance of Biomechanics to Studying Human Diseases; 2-D Numerical Simulation of Hemodynamics and Drug Delivery in Solid Tumour; and Nanoparticles of Biodegradable Polymers for Cancer Chemotherapy.

NUS BIZ SCHOOL RANKS HIGH

NUS Business School has been ranked among the best in the world for its Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programmes. Its Asia Pacific Executive MBA programmes in English and Chinese was ranked 30th in the latest Financial Times 2005 EMBA ranking. The School which celebrated its 40th Anniversary last year, is the only business school in Singapore to make it to the rankings' top 75 list.
