Annex 1: Major Financial Assistance Schemes1

Scheme

Eligibility

Quantum Per Award Per Year

Tuition Fee Loan2 (TFL)

All full-time students.

Up to 90% of tuition fees payable

Mendaki Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy2 (TFS)

Malay Singapore citizens, or Malay children of Singapore citizens.

70% or 100% of tuition fees payable

CDC/CCC-University Bursaries

Needy students who are Singapore citizens and with monthly household income of below $1,500.

$1,000

NUS Study Loan2 (NUS-SL)

Needy students who must concurrently obtain minimum financing of 90% of tuition fees payable from at least one of the following: TFL; CPF Education Scheme; TFS; a registered government agency.

10% of tuition fees payable;
and
annual living allowance of $3,600

NUS Bursaries (BUR)

Needy students who are in receipt of the NUS-SL.

$1,000 - $1500

depending on student's financial need

Subsistence Loan3 and/or Work-Study Assistance

Needy students who are in receipt of BUR.

Recipients of the ASEAN/NUS Undergraduate Scholarship.

$400 - $2,400
depending on student's financial need

NUS Students' Fund Bursary4

Needy students who have applied for TFL.

$1,500
